After the sudden closing of a Metairie bridal shop caused stress to brides-to-be, others are offering to pitching in to help.

A short prom dresses swap is planned for the weekend, in hopes that brides and their bridal parties will be able to get help after Linda Lee’s Bridal suddenly closed its doors.

Here are the details:

DONATIONS: You may drop off any dress (wedding dress, mother of the bride dress, bridesmaid dress, or flower girl dress) you wish to donate Saturday, Sept. 24 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at Feet First on Magazine Street. Please bring your dress on a hanger!

BRIDES & WEDDING PARTIES IN NEED: Please come to Feet First on Magazine Street Sunday, Sept. 25 between 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. with your proof of purchase from Linda Lee. You will be able to browse through all the donated dresses, try them on, and take home one that works for you.

When you drop off your dress, you will have the option to donate your dress permanently or have your dress returned to you if it not matched with a bride in need. Permanently donated dresses will be brought to the Junior League Bloomin' Deals Thrift Shop if not matched with a bride. If you wish to have the dress returned, you will be called to pick it up at Feet First. We respectfully ask that you pick up your long prom dresses by Friday, Sept. 30.
