Why do people need to be able to protect themselves?

The main reason is because there are dangerious animals and desprate or deranged people who think of attacking others! The human desire to be self centered is the cause of most all Grief!

Most of the Europens who came to the Americas, brought arms for defense.. Then there have been many wars and fights that caused people to have arms for personal protection!


The primary purpose for having the right to bear arms is to be able to protect home and family from unscruplious ones who came to ravage and destroy! These attacking groups have been criminal, leagal and many times governments!

The early laws of the America (U.S.) were very clear about the responsiblity for each citizen's defense and thus freedoms... History has shown that in order to gaurantee their freedom, every citizen must be prepared to fight to defend their rights!

Thomas jefferson said " The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to bear arms is; as a last resort to protect themselves against tyranny in Government."

Therefore the Second Amendment was created to provide for this event as well as to provide for personal defense of both self and personal property! I personally seen this in action working in South Fla after Hurrican Amdrew... mainly to stop looters!

During the American Revolution; the natural philosophers had established the foundation for self- defense as a necessary principle of life. Every's person's life, they said ; belongs to God, and thus to allow one's life to be taken because one failed to defend it was wrong! This natural law to the right of seld-defense was so applied to the duty to protect one's family, community,and national liberties. Therefore for the citizens at the heart of their religion was Liberty, which is a sacred gift from ALmighty God - thus to be defended at all costs!

The second amendment of the U.S. Constitution states:

" A well regulated milita being necessary to the security of a free State the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. "

George Mason called the father of the Bill of Rights said:
" What is the milita? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effective way to enslave them! "

Do either of these statements bring any thoughts to mind as to the direction of certain government types in recent years?
If not then you have either been asleep or in a comma!

This is the reason for the belief and support that continues to influence American's views about the Right to Bear personal Arms!
