Won a First Place Ribbon for Kamut ® at SD County Fair


The story behind winning the ribbon.

Entered Kamut® non gmo organic ancient grain that was grown in our Tower Garden aeroponic system (and some grown in Wine Barrel in soil) in the Home Produce Contest at the San Diego Fair. We won a first place blue ribbon. Jennifer Galey, the coordinator of the farm, was welcoming. We added Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds to the selection the kids had for prizes in a contest, and gave away a few Eden Food products. Nadine and I ground the ancient wheat into what will become dough for our Grow A Healthier Pizza Campaign. Nadine was inspired to want to make a fresh peach pie from what the kids helped ups grind. I want to invite all near to come to Environment Day activities next Saturday. Local San Diego CSA's will be featured in the Agrifair building.
