Conspiracy Theories go Mainstream

It wasn't long ago when I was discovering the usefullness of the internet to inform me of conspiracies. It seemed that some ideas would never get onto the mainstream media.

The main "conspiracy theory" was that "government is overly influenced by corporations".

Believe it or not, even that obvious truth was roundly thrashed as "whacko conspiracy theory" by mainstream people.

Now it is on the mainstream news as "just one of the things Occupy Wall Street protestors are shouting about", as if it is plainly evident [which it is and has been for a long time to anyone willing to see].

In that turnaround of truth-telling is a lesson about how truth is controlled by media and government. How could the majority of people be fooled for so long? The old standard of "if it is in the newspapers or on TV news, it must be true" was fooling enough people, even until just recently, that it kept the collusion between corporations and government in the realm of "conspiracy theory".

After all, we trust the talking heads on TV, right?

No, not any more. Too many examples of bad things played down, good things [like electric cars] being held back, and too many government crimes gone unpunished, and of course the lies around 9 11, have convinced enough people now that there really are conspiracies going on.

Enough people now know that the Elites are running the show from behind the scenes, making a mockery of democracy. It is getting difficult to bury your head anymore when GMOs are in your food and the toxic pollution is killing family members with cancer. Obama exploded some of the PharmaGiant's "bad acting", and that really opened some doors on corporate-government collusion.

And there is so much more - the lies and propaganda are everywhere in our lives: Toxins denied as carcinogenic;
Telling us that cancer rates are going down when they are going up;
Voixx was approved on the basis of the FAKE studies done by Dr. Rueban;
BP oil is intimidating, even threatening, people who are suing them, and they have the local police working for them instead of the citizens;
- and 1000s more examples, I didn't even touch on economics.

So here we are, the ugly truth laid bare. Should we just sit back and take it? I would just caution against using violence - that is the one way the authorities could justify crushing the movement. Other than that, there are 100 ways to express your thoughts, from consumer power [don't buy certain products, such as new cars that burn gasoline or diesel] to the Occupy protests.

PS - joining the Tea Party would only hand more powers to the corporations, as the Tea wants regulations done away with. They just don't seem to get it.

We are the 99% - it is our country, and our government, take it back, occupy it!!
