"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance: And a people who mean to be their own Governors, must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives." James Madison

I am inspired by "... people who mean to be their own Governors". I think most any American farmer is capable of such. We the people can contract with the farmers and be our own "Governors" in all matters concerning our food!

James writes to W. T. Barry on public education: "... A system comprising the Learned Institutions may be still further recommended to the more indigent class of Citizens by such an arrangement as was reported to the General Assembly of Virginia, in the year 1779, by a Committee (1) appointed to revise laws in order to adapt them to the genius of Republican Government."

I am also inspired with "The genius of Republican Government". I'd like to see the federal and most of the state governments be likewise inspired, however I do not expect that to happen. More likely the farmers will be inspired before the politicians.

I wonder what James Madison would say the present state of "the Republic" is at this time! I'd ask him "Do we still have a Republic"? He would know and he would absolutely tell the truth about it!

Further searching (on 12/19/10) based on inspiration to seek: "truths of the free American people" led me to a great forum in which is:
"... all the founding fathers were not "Christians"(some being deists), and not wanting another theocracy like England, interjected that rights are defined on the basis of being human, whether one believes he was created by God or not. "
