I do not think of this food as ideal, but it fills some perverse space in my heart that wants to eat something right away that fits the bill of comfort food and junk food. By eating this I have many times avoided eating TRULY junky food, so even though I just did a blog entry a few minutes ago I'm going to go ahead and share my little instant fast trick here, and that is

JUNK FAST FOOD TO KEEP IN THE KITCHEN

1 or more bags of frozen organic corn and/or organic peas

When I find myself going into a crazymaker mode and I want to eat something that spells COMFORT to me and I want it greasy and I don't want to wait:

Place bag of frozen organic corn or peas under hot water of faucet (before opening bag so tap water won't touch the food) -- hot, but not hot enough to burn the fingers will keep it from cooking the corn or peas. Of course you can eliminate this step if you had the forethought to thaw out the corn or peas already!

One they are thawed, I pour 1/2 to a full bag into a bowl and season with olive oil, fresh pressed garlic, Celtic sea salt, maybe a squeeze of fresh lime juice (really adds a flair to the flavor!) and a bit of ground organic black pepper to taste.

Maybe this particular "dish" will not appeal to you, but this has helped me through "crazy cravings" so many times I wanted to be sure to include it here!! I just had some organic corn this way last night and am about to go to the store to make sure I have some in the house for the next time. I find this especially helpful during times of transition or after having a lapse of some kind out of eating the best food ever.

By the way, did you hear about that lady in France that lived to be 122? I think she said she ate about 2 1/2 lbs. of chocolate a week and lots of olive oil all her life. I already knew chocolate (at least good quality chocolate and especially raw chocolate -- or cacao) was good for me, especially without the harmful sweeteners, but I was really ready to hear again the glories of olive oil. I really love that stuff. Hurray for olive oil...! It may not be a superfood, but it is super on my list...!!!

Bon Appetit!

UPDATE: I forgot to mention that one thing I love to add to this "legal" junkfest is onion powder. YUM...! (smile)
