Some interesting ideas on how to get done what you need to do, especially when you do not really feel like doing anything!

How often do you get that dull  feeling because the only thing you really feel like doing is watching TV or talking on your phone?

Here are some tips:

  1. Plan ahead.  you can plan ahead so you start out in the right frame of mind.  Be flexible but not to the extent that  you can easily  slip off  into just checking e-mails and social or news sites before doing any actual work.
  2. Wait until later in the day before stopping to check e-mails or check any social networking sites.   If you check before the main (necessary)  tasks of the day, there’s a strong chance that there will be something in your Inbox that will require action on your part, and you’ll feel compelled to deal with those emergency e-mails before  getting to work on the tasks at hand!
  3. Minimize distractions. Turn off the TV, radios and the phone ringer, then disable any chat or instant messaging software. It’s especially important when you work from home to make sure your friends and family know when you are working, so you can maintain a consistent, productive environment. This is one of the main stumbling blocks for many people today, can't get away from the IM or Fon stuff...   Most of which is not necessary to begin with!
  4. Take time for breaks every few hours if possible then get back to the tasks at hand!   Life does not have to be a bore...
  5. Build in a system of accomplishments:  The reward or punishment can be two sides of the same coin:  if you accomplish your task, you get to do a particular fun activity, and if you don’t accomplish your task, you don’t get to do that activity.  You may even get to do what ever over again, which makes it twice the drag!

Once you get into the mode of productivity, you’ll find that it’s much easier to stay in that “productivity zone.”   Once you  find that you can get more accomplished in an hour of great productively; then you might just want to do things this way from now on!

This is called changing bad habits with good more productive habits which will allow you to actually have more enjoyable time and still get all you needed work done!  HUH!
