Learning to have faith during hard times by mo123 .....

When times get bad, know that God has mercy and he will show you a way out. Keep faith, keep going and give more.

I was thinking just now about how the Japanese men commit hairi kari when you are humiliated. That is taking a razor sharp sword and sticking it in your belly and ripping from side to side, ouch, not a fun thing to do.

I was thinking also about Korean farmers who drink poison from the pesticides they are putting on their crops when they loose their money.

In America, normal they just shoot theirself in the head or hand theirself.

Jordanians are different, they don't commit suicide because we know that it will lead to the hellfire. Fear of Allah guides our daily lives. I do know of one man who was crazy and was going to the hospital for help and he flipped and drank a bottle of clorox. Then he got scared and changed his mind and went running for help. The hospital tried to save him but it was too late.

I have a daily struggle here and with no job and no source of income other than welfare it is a constant uphill battle. Now things are real bad and people just arn't giving charity like before. I use to live in a one room with no door, no shower and no kitchen and now I have a home of luxury. I have 2 bedrooms, a huge kitchen and bathroom with a bathtub, like I never thought it was possible. I have hot water and that in itself is luxury but it is expensive. I have to pay 100 dollars each month plus electric, water, phone, internet, etc. So keeping faith is difficult at times.

The one thing I never worry about is money. Like this month I got 1/2 of what I usually get and I know how Allah works. If he takes from one hand, he will deliver to the next hand. So if someone quits helping me, I know he will send someone new. If we believe that Allah or God can feed every single creature on earth can he not feed us. Imagine that the birds never have to worry for food, the fish and even the aunts have food provided for them by Allah. I find this amazing in itself.

One woman told me that there is very much jealousy in this town as I don't work but I live like a queen. Most of the things I have is gifts and everyone wants to help an American who is a Muslim convert. I know of no poor person in Jordan who is hungry. It is our job to take care of the oppressed and homeless and poor. Everyone is responsible for charity for the poor. Even if you are poor you have to give "sadekah", (charity) the poor has its rights.

Imagine in America if you adopted the same policy that no poor person would be hungry or homeless. Could it not be a better world. Would it be that hard for each one of you to help one person. For God's sake don't give to the Salvation Army, cause I know they are not honest. My mom use to work there. Give it directly to the poor. Take a responsibility on yourself to help someone who needs help on this day.

AS we finish up Valentine's Day, let us give chocolate to someone who has nothing.
