Last night I came across a website about juice fasting. Since I had already
incorporated juicing into my regular eating routine the thought to go on a complete
juice fast intrigued me.
The past 20 days have brought tremendous changes in my eating and health habits.
It began with my wife and I taking our entire family to see a naturalist. He had
been referred to us by serveral close friends. I was very skeptical and only went
because my wife wanted to receive some herbs or treatment for her varicose viens.
The office was as unimpressive as the naturalist. He first diagnosed my wife by
observing her pupil with a flashlight. He indicated she suffered from kidney
problems, poor digestion, poor circulation and headaches. He also said she was a
nervous and suffered from anxiety. He was right on every account. My skepticism
began to slowly peel away. He then diagnosed my 2.5 year old son. He said the
child suffered from poor nutrition; that he was eating too much meat; he had
digestive problems resulting from eating gum. I was amazed at the accuracy of his
diagnosis. He confirmed everything that had been happening to our son. He only
like to eat meat, he did not like to eat hardly any vegatables or fruit and he was
notorious for swallowing his chewing gum. He took one glance into my eyes and
said, if you don't change your eating habits right now, you will be on dialysis
soon. He also said I probably had kidney or gal bladder stones. As far as the gal
bladder stones, he was right on point there. I passed a gal bladdder stone last
December and it was one the most extreme pains I had ever felt. I have a family
history of diabeties. My father had high blood pressure, arthrosclrosis, high
cholesteral, end stage renal disese, and colon cancer. He had a stroke the day
after surgery removed a cancerous growth in his colon. He died 46 days later.
He diagnosed the rest of my kids one by one with amazing accuracy.
But the most the stunning diagnosis was the last one. I have a 12 year
old son from my first marriage on strong medication to control his depression and
anger. He is taking concerta, which is another form of ritalin. He also is taking
a very powerful antipsychotic drug called abilfy. It is currently not approved for
pediatric use, but doctors are prescribing it at alarming rates. The side effect
can be permanent muscle tremors or twitching. Another side effect is sucidal
thoughts and suicide. As soon as the naturalist saw him, he said, "This child
suffers from depression, which is artificially induced. If you do not do something
soon, he may commit sucide. He said he was prone to anger or outburst of rage.
I felt helpless to do anything about it since my ex-wife has complete controll over
all medical decisions involving my two kids.
By the end of our visit, I was convince of this man's ability to diagnose problems
by merely viewing a persons iris.
He recommended we stop eating all meat, consume more vetagbles and
fruits.
This office visit was the catalyst to the tranformation that has taken
place the last 30 days.
After talking to my wife, we decided would begin to eat more healthy and
start jucing as a part of diet. We finished off the last portions of red meat we
had in the fridge. I weighed 233 pounds when I went the naturalist at the end of
June. We started jucing on July the first. By the 11th of July I had dropped to
227 pounds. I decided to take my measurements on that day. I am 5'7" , my waist
was 44 inches, gut was 48 inches, my chest was 48 inches, arms were 15 inches,
thighs 27 inches and calves 15 inches.
A week later on July 19, I measured again and had the following
measurements:
weight 223.5 total loss 9.5 lbs
waist 42.5
gut 46
chest 47.5
arms 14
thighs 25
calves 15
On the morning of the 19th I decided to officially begin my juice fast. I began
the day with a good amount of energy. My wife and I worked out. Later in the
afternoon I helped my sister move some furniture out of storage. Between on the
trips, I began really tired and fatigued. She made me an apple, carrot, celery,
spinich. It gave the energy I needed to finish the job. I only experienced hunger
pangs a few times.
