I'm writing this on Jan 20, day 6 of the pre-week.

Me and my housemate are both into organics and veggie juices, so we've been shopping together for each week, and the weekend before we bought veggies worth some 100 Aussie dollars (that's not much more than what we usually spend on veggies anyway, shocking isn't it...!) and juiced it all - carrots, cucumbers, beets, you name it. Unfortunately I got so excited I juiced a few lumps of ginger too many, and the juice went super spicy!! But well, it makes me feel hot and tingly inside and - maybe I just imagine, but - maybe a bit more energized as well, so it can't be that bad.

We had bought a 24-pack of 600ml water bottles in advance and saved the bottles after they were empty with the intention to fill them with veggie juice. Bad luck, our other fridge (there's six people in the house so we have to have two small fridges) died late the week before, but the idea was to freeze most of the juice in the bottles anyway, so no dramas.

Early in the pre-week I also made a heap of potato&leek soup to get me a bit into the liquids, so I'd take a bottle of that to work for lunch, a bottle of juice for brekky or smoko, and something easy like a salad, or leftovers with boiled veggies as a bigger meal. I didn't quite get into liquids as much as I hoped, I ate too much meat and stuff, but overall I already felt more energized. I kept on my normal intake of around 4 x 0.60 litre Brita bottles of water at work, and an additional two of those if I went to the gym at work afterwards. So that's pretty good.

Thursday was late night shopping in the suburbs, so I went to Chermside I bought the last things I needed for the fast (except topping up my juice reserves with veggies) - plums to be soaked and enjoyed in the mornings on my pre-week, and the douche bag (or, actually, a douche container, which seems more modern to me anyway). So that really cheered me up, although I was exhausted after scanning through the whole massive shopping centre without finding any proper sandals for walking - so I still have the very inconvenient choice of hot sneakers or high heels for my days.

Friday was my last day at work and it was pretty emotional, the day went on like normal, me instructing my colleague on how to go on with my job and sitting in a comfy chair eating grapes like a queen, but my supervisors had arranged my department a "Good Riddance Disturbance" lunch with a couple of pizza-bagels, fluffy cakes, crackers with dip and rockmelon with grapes, and there was no holding me from enjoying all that although I knew very well I was on my pre week. And yeah as predicted, my tummy didn't agree with the food at all! I had got used to the juice and soup and a good lighter feeling, and now I was stuffed and stuffy. Me leaving the office was heartbreaking as well, and that poured out in the evening when my housemate was being poopy and I lost it and went for a long walk late in the night after banging some doors. Got a lot of thinking done out in the fresh air that smelled like flowers. So maybe this is the emotional part that comes with cleansing. Or then I'm just imagining like usual. Can one become overly emotional even when the whole fast hasn't started yet? Then again I'm on my period and I'm known to have PMS spelled PERMANENT Menstual Syndrome, so maybe it's just typical me. Nevertheless there was an apology note tucked under my locked door this morning, so today Saturday I cooked him and me a roast chicken with veggie rice for dinner. I also packed a bit more of my bags, washed the mountain of dishes of my younger housemates, read for my Learner License road rules test, and chatted to a friend online plus washed a load of clothes, cleaned the room a bit, played with the cat and like mentioned made dinner, so maybe that's the energy rushes then they talk about? Or then I'm just imagining again. I'm generally pretty energized as I drink plenty of water and have no bad habits (I've never smoked, drank coffee or tea, never gone to Maccers regularly, drank fizzies...), it's only me grog and the occasional bad bad antibiotics that have probably caught up on me! So, talking about being energized, one of my housemates had written a bad note of all of us being messy, and I commented on the sheet that we all know who the messy ones are, and maybe they should be notified directly rather than by leaving notes around (I think it's rude). Ok I was rude too, and expectedly one of the messy people took offence, but after seeing that I did have a point PLUS had also seen a lot of trouble getting the place tidy, got a boost of energy fuelled by her anger to organise the whole upstairs area. So, way to go me, I suppose...

So an energy filled emotional week so far. At the moment I can say I'm probably most looking forward to the douching. And yes I care most about my personal reading pleasure and accurate memories, so I AM indeed going to describe everything interesting. And not even write disclaimers about it, we folks over this side of the world aren't overly sensitive!
