Day 1-2
First days on the fast
Date: 12/11/2006 6:04:37 PM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 1652 times So far so good. I'm now ending the second day of my juice fast. I've been using mostly fresh juices and hot black teas. I haven't had any major symptoms, mostly some mild headaches and I'm voiding a lot.
Whenever I fast I feel really good. I feel really light physically but emotionally I start to feel at peace. Maybe this is because I'm not devoting every spare thought to meal planning.
The smell of food is always an issue when I fast. I can smell something as mundane as steamed cabbage and I start to salivate! I'm always so impressed with how heightened my senses are when I fast.
Lastly, it's hard to get my head around going without food. I think more than the actual eating part, this is the most difficult aspect of doing this. Just try to tell someone that you plan to go without food for 30 days and watch their reaction. But I can appreciate that perspective. Its hard for us to believe and support something like fasting. I'm not really sure why that is. Someone could tell me they've been on a 30 day drug binge and that would probably be supported more so than the idea of going on a fast. Maybe we fear what we don't recognize or understand? Who knows. Anyway, if anyone is going to fast this is the real challenge to overcome. It's okay not to eat, give the body a rest, let the fat cells shrink. Its natural.
