Day 4. Feeling better than good....
I did a salt water flush this morning....and no more headache!

It's more than just having had the burden of digestion lifted, and more than the quick delivery of vitamins and minerals you get with juicing. In my case I'm convinced I must usually eat something (Wheat? Dairy? Eggs? OK, Chocolate??) that I'd be better off without. I feel SO much more clear headed and energetic now the first few rough days are over. This is why I LOVE juice fasting.
I did a salt water flush this morning....and no more headache!
The salt water wasn't too bad to take. I did what another blogger recommended and had all the salt in one cup of water and used the remaining cups of water to flush the salty mixture down. Within 45 minutes the flush exited without too much drama!
I've used psyllium before in a fast and I've decided to take 1 TBSP in water 2 x per day from today. My impression from using it is that it sweeps along the intestines and gathers up some junk along it's way. The long rope-like stuff that people flush out when taking P&B shakes...well, I'm fairly convinced that *most* of that is psyllium.
Anyway, I feel it's important to keep stuff moving along the bowel during a fast, otherwise the toxins get reabsorbed and cause headaches.....plus more work for the liver.
Juice-wise. 6 juices again today. I added garlic to one and it burned a bit on the way down....a real appetite killer incidentally!!!
I was hungry tonight preparing food for the family....it looked and smelled SO GOOD!
It still does dammit.
I posted my fasting history in a post on the juice forum, and the post brought up a few other things which I'll detail in another blogpost. Got to get my kids into bed now :o)
