I know what it can be like to be searching for an apartment in NYC. Especially if you are form Timbuktu two, or wherever.
Let's be honest--you don't really know the difference between rent-controlled and rent-stabilized, do you? Said Author Don Iarussi.
You may see ads for co-ops for rent. Of course you know what a co-op is, don't you? When you enter one, you may have figured out how they got their name. They are $2500 a month and look more like a chicken "coop" than Co-Op.
Author Don Iarussi has lived in a one-bedroom apartment on the 29th floor on the West Side overlooking the Hudson River. He paid about $500 a month. He lived in a one bedroom on East 84th Street and paid only $300 a month.
In the Park Slope Area, Iarussi rented a rent stabilized one-bedroom apartment for two years and paid less than $400 a month.
There are many places out their said Iarussi. It is a matter of knowing where to look and selling yourself as a responsible, mature tenant.
