all we need is love
Date: 2/27/2006 5:18:58 PM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 3997 times We find outselves in troubled times. What to do? How to cope? I cannot think too much about all the calamities that have befallen our world. It has become too hard for me to envision a way to fix it up, to wrestle the power away from the evildoers, to find a way to enlighten those who sink ever lower in despair -- so that the many can overpower the few. I think we have managed to buy us some time. Alternates earths are not so lucky. My dreams tell me so. Maybe this is not the best of all possible worlds, but it is better than many ...
I no longer engage in the struggle between good and evil. I do what I am able. I try to be a good citizen. I stay informed but I refuse to be alarmed. My eyes are on the future ... the light at the end of the tunnel --- the land just beyond the darkness and the rainbow ribbons of light. I pray, I dance, I sing. I do all those things which help me to connect with God and each other.
I believe in the message of Jesus. Love is the way. Love of self and others. Love of the whole in all its imperfections. I dont have to be one of the smartest, or one of the fastest, or one the most powerful. I am not perfect -- I can be angry, sometimes I hurt, I get tired and crabby, I cannot always be gracious and kind and helpful. But I try to be a good person and I love. I know love is my ticket to paradise.
anyone can love. anyone can forgive. anyone can find room in one's heart for all of God's creatures -- great and small. We can understand that we all are important. We are all necessary. We are all part of the plan. and we can all partake of the joy that is to follow this madness. all we need do is love.
perhaps the door is closing on this world but the window is opening to a new and beautiful clean world ready and waiting for us to begin again. if you feel lost or despairing -- think of what you might bring to this new beginning. we will build the new world together.
even tho you might be alone now remember that love attracts love. a heart full of love will find love. love begets love. we are -- God's only begotten child -- and love is what connects us one to another. yes indeed, the train is aboarding. do not sweat your unbelief -- all you need is love.
