Mercury as 1 cause of acquired food allergies; status of Gelatin treatment

Mercury poisoning can be a cause of aquired food allergies, amalgam removal and chelation not always enough: bowels cleansing. Also: status of use of gelatin to soothe bowels

Notes that apply to this blog:
A. Technically the word "food allergies" only applies to those who go into shock and must head for the nearest emergency room, but the words intolerances and sensitivities are just too darn long, and everyone with this type of problem with certain foods generally ends up calling it food allergies too. Thus, in this blog, "insensitivities" and "intolerances" will be called food allergies. Symptoms of these types of intolerances can be many; a Google search can provide a list if you aren’t sure whether you have them or not. Brain fog, joint pain, fatigue, constant digestive troubles are some.

B. The only cures that I have seen referenced (so far) involve anti-parasite steps, bowel cleansing, liver flushing, soothing gut problems with gelatin or butyrate, or NEW TODAY: removing mercury/heavy metal poisoning .

C. In this blog, I post some symptomatic relief steps that are not cures, but over time will be experimenting on myself to try to actually cure my own food allergies, and spread the word. Current status: I’m taking experimental steps with bowel cleansing, because excess mucous from food allergies causes most bowel cleansing products to not work. Updates on results of specific bowel cleansing products on my food-allergenic-mucousy insides are coming soon. I’m waiting on liver flushing until bowel is cleaner. And, anti-parasite products (have tried many of them) don’t seem effective when bowel still needs cleansed, so again I’m back to bowel cleansing.

A new (to this blog) possible cause of acquired food allergies: heavy metal poisoning, like mercury. Oh yes, I remember reading about this one years ago - but I dismissed it at the time for me because I had already had my amalgams removed years before that, with no discerable improvement, and couldn't think of any other source of heavy metal poisoning that I might have had (was raised on health food and home was kept relatively toxin-free by my health conscious parent). Stumbled across this again recently - could have kicked myself for not listing it in earlier blog postings, because for some people this can be THE cause of acquired food allergies. There is, however, even more to it. A kind soul just posted an eye-opener on the Amalgam Removal forum. I'll try to summarize:

For some people, having metal amalgam fillings removed does not result in noticeable health improvement, even when many signs had pointed to the mercury causing them health problems. They may have other toxic issues causing the problems. However, for some, the removel of the mercury fillings didn't do enough to remove mercury in rest of body - EVEN IF they then followed a chelation protocol. Why? If their bowels were clogges and had been for some time, the mercury can lodge in the diverticula of the intestines. Chelation won't reach there. The only thing that can remove it here is...oh no, this again? ;-) Bowel Cleansing.

I'm a guinea pig - had amalgams out over ten years ago. No improvement in digestive issues and food allergies. Recently read about and tried the Cutler chelation protocol (for those considering chelation, this is the best protocol I found, in my opinion, of all of those that I read about). Went gradually up to higher and higher doses of the chelating agents. No improvement, no change for better or worse.. Gave up on that. But my digestion and status of bowels has been for years not good - surely the mercury would still be a problem in my gut lining if the gut is trying to excrete old mercury. Ok, enough about me.

This brings us back to the common thread running through most of my blog - bowel cleansing removing whatever toxin is ailing you (or at least improving the process of removing toxins from other areas of your body). Bowel cleansing improving digestion, thus hopefully allowing foods to be broken down better to avoid allergens. Bowel Cleansing to prepare for liver flushing - hoping that the liver malfunction correction will get rid of the food allergies. Bowel cleansing and correction of leaky gut - to prevent large allergen particles from ending up in the blood causind food allergies. No matter where I turn it comes down to...bowel cleansing, if the bowel is not function properly. HOWEVER If someone has food allergies WITHOUT constipation or other bowel troubles, then I would say that person may be able to move immediately ahead to liver flushing, chelation, or anti-parasite steps as next steps to try to cure food allergies. But for those with bowel problems, looks like bowel cleansing is still the place to fix first.

I'll go into some of my experiments with bowel cleansing products in next few blog posts. Mucousy, food allergenic people often do not have success with bowel cleansing products as readily as others do. The Bowel Cleansing forum is really helpful: amazing the different responses people have to the same products, and equally amazing how many protocols there are. Good thing, because only a few of the protocols have done much for this food allergic person - and feedback could be useful for other people with food allergies.

Status of one of the other healing protocols: Using Gelatin to heal intestinal lining to try to prevent leaky gut, in case it is causing the food allergies: I tried to find a source for gelatin online. Found out that all sources of plain gelatin that I could find hydrolyze collagen to make gelatin. Although it isn't clear to me what method they use to hydrolyze the collagen to make the gelatin, I don't trust hydrolyzed products, because some hydrolyzed foods (all?) act as a toxin to people who are sentitive to MSG. They don't contain MSG, but act in the same way, or so some say. So I gave up trying to find a source, and just started making chicken broth using bones and such from chicken, in my crock pot overnight. The thick liquid after the solds are strained out has natural collagen. I'm sure it would take more than I could make to make a big difference in my gut lining, but can't hurt to add it to my protocol. Chicken is one of the foods I'm actually not allergic to - might as well get some use out of it!
