In the beginning.....a short history of my health
A summary of my starting point and all the health issues I want to resolve.
Date: 9/19/2005 11:25:35 PM ( 19 y ) ... viewed 2077 times Well, here goes entry #1. This blog was started with the purpose of documenting my path to good health.
I've tried many cleanses, diets, and general attempts at eating better/working out, but every single time I've failed. I believe the reason is the lack of a support group and no accountability to anyone. I'm hoping this blog will not only hold me accountable for my actions to the public, but also that it may provide some support to people facing similar difficulties.
Below is a summary of my health basics:
Age: Mid-20's
Sex: Female
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 165
BMI: 38 (Well into the obese range)
Health Problems: Acid reflux disease, permanent allergies, dental metals, weak immune system, constipation, bad bowel system, borderline sugar/cholesterol problems, horrible horrible skin characterized by acne and moderately severe hyperpigmentation, chest pains, possible PCOS (symptoms of heavy hirstuism, irregular periods, occasional pelvic pain, skin tags and hyperpigmintation, possible candida, thinning hair), and overall generally sensitive skin and GI system
Mental Problems: Mild depression, mild social anxiety, heavy self-esteem issues, sugar addiction
Things I've tried: Master Cleanse (the drink made me want to throw up), Atkins diet (felt like I'd get a heart attack), South Beach diet (VERY time consuming), Raw Diet (very unpalatable and hard to stick to), Water Fast (impossible to do), Juice Fast (felt weak and faint), etc etc.
I could go on and on, but this is as concise as I can get. Basically, I want to lose weight and get healthy again....and possibly even 'find myself' in the process.
Anyway, I shall post again soon after formulating a plan of action. Looks like I have some heavy research ahead of me.
