One with Halibut
Fullfillment and Contentment in Nature's revelation
Date: 6/28/2005 8:00:54 PM ( 19 y ) ... viewed 1220 times I was down at the spot today preparing for my "heart thought" paper, reading that old goat Troward...He is a very wise Old Goat though~ I do no think there is a new thought on this plane. It is sad to see we are the recyclers of Truth and Beauty without much rising in race consciousness...But this is not what I wanted to tell you...God I am in that Monkey Mind again...
While sitting in Lotus posture on the bottom slab of cement stairs, then dangling my brown calves off the side into the water...daydreaming, getting still, entraining with sounds and feeling of the Bay, the loveliest relaxation...I slip into the water and stand motionless letting the water support me- I have fins~ one in each hand~ declaring my intentions to Neptune, the fish, and birds.
I begin a hypnotic tidal movement-while standing upright I feel the ebb and flow of the mini waves created by passing vessels..I list forward, then am pushed slightly back..I begin to feel the primordial rhythm in my internal fluids matching the external movement...It is magical this state of being...My shoulders are hot, I feel the sun beating on my back and shoulders but my hips waist and legs are very cool and very relaxed-as relaxed as one can be while still standing - I creep out- 2 more steps...
I hear a tiny splash...within a yard of me
I see the cause of the splash myself ~a 3inch long halibut emerging from the water and skimming the surface by wagging that fish tail , OH I am enchanted, full of curiosity for this beautiful strange little creature..he crosses in front of me moving towards the steps I have just vacated...he changes direction~ now I am smiling at this little creatures will power and strength..he straightens out and follows the line of the shore goes another foot then either dive or sinks back to the shallow sandy bottom...WHAT?
I had never seen a small (or large) fish travel on top of the water until today..he must've covered 36-40 inches ~ I am fascinated, enchanted, but still very quiet so he may act his future in peace. I am positive he felt free to do reveal himself in my presence because I did not exist as separate. I had relaxed into the water~ was One with.
Thank you God for giving me this gift of this little fish moving, risking, changing location right in my looming presence...I am so blessed-I discovered one of natures secrets today.
My burning shoulders remind me it is time to slide into the water, I take my fins in one hand extend my other arm and glide into the water...chilly heaven-my back begins to cool- and I take little breaths until the body begin to reach some point of stasis...
I put each fin on while paddling with the opposite side hand and arm...I slide into my belly and kick..the water responds to my legs and I am pushed forward..I pulse kick and then smoothly glide over to my back-
I stretchout and float and take in the sun and the sound of my heart...what a lovely instrument of calm- A woman's heart....I am calmed by my own heart beating...Comfortable sounds-but I can hears clicks and creakings in the water when I listen outside myself- and then an underlying roar of the universe in my internal...I am completely happy and satisfied...
Over 40 years I have come to this spot, both of us have changed over time- the love affair still exists after all that time...Ceaseless Changeless adoration..My adoration, and fidelity over time have not waned...in fact, increased with time. My nature revealing the fullness of Love and appreciation...
Filled with Contentment......
