When I was rear ended March 29, 2018, I was transitioning from one freeway to another. I was surprised I was hit at all.
There was a surprising snap, in one spot, that felt right behind my heart. My back is fused pretty solid from what Western Medicine calls Anglyosin Spondylitis, a form of arthritis that began in my teen years, but now, there was this movement in one single spot in my Thorasic area that hadn’t moved in year

Gourd, named Skippy Asclepius
was completely decapitated!
Skippy Asclepius? Once upon a time, pure healing medicine was symbolically represented by the Rod of Asclepius, a single snake-like Staff carried by a Greek God, who had five daughters, each representing an aspect of healing, but as we came more and more into modern times, Modern Medicine became more and more associated with warring against Nature. The original Staff that represented by one snake, was replaced, almost without knowing it, by the Caduceus, represented by two snakes, seemingly hissing at each other.
At the time of my Accident, Big Pharma, more and more, was Associated with Modern Modern Medicine, and I, as #YourEnchantedGardener
was already playing with the idea that my purpose now was to breathe new life into Modern Medicine, through a marriage, a union of nature and healing again becoming integrated.
I had been mystifying many people with this snakelike gourd since the fall of 2017 when a specimen of the Kikinda gourd, about five feet long came into my possession when I attended the The National Heirloom Exposition. More than 100 kinds of heirlooms are grown for the annual show. My participation, that entailed driving more than 1700 miles each year between San Diego, Santa Rosa, and beyond, represents my commitment to save our Sacred Seeds.
Originally, the Kikinda weighted about 20 or more pounds, but when it dried, it took on the snake-like configuration.
Something from the ancient past of healing, and something from it’s future was speaking to me through this natural object, that was in my mind mystically a part of nature and very much a symbolic expression of the work yet to be done.
So how did it happen that I was told I was the luckiest Man in the World?

I adopted this specimen of the Kikinda Gourd from the Squash tower or The Petaluma Seed Bank In 2017. The gourd, that I call a #PetCelebritySquash, weighted about 20 or more pounds. It dried beautifully into a snake-like looking creation that has captured the imagination of hundreds of attendees at various Integrstive Medicine Conferences and at the Natural Product Expo West in late winter 2017, as well as the famed California traveling Circus Vargas. It has been a tremendous conversation starter and promoter for the 8th Annual National Heirloom Expo, Sept 11-12-13, 2018, where “Skippy” will be Part of the Enchanted Garden Mobile exhibit.
