How To Stop Drinking Too Much Wine At Night

I hope you don’t feel ashamed about drinking too much wine at night, because it’s a lot more common than you think.

Sometimes you get in from work and it’s hard to unwind. After you put the kids to bed you still feel stressed out, so you decide to open a bottle of wine. If this doesn’t happen on a regular basis you don’t have anything to worry about.

Unfortunately, it becomes a habit for lots of working moms. Even though it seems innocent you could become dependent on alcohol. Once it reaches a certain point it’s risky, so we’re going to look at how you can save yourself.

1. You Should Go Cold Turkey Now

Lots of women are sitting in drug rehab centers because they thought they would quit tomorrow. You need to go cold turkey now. If your body was dependent on alcohol you would definitely know about it.

It’s more likely you find wine relaxing and take advantage of it. Common sense is now telling you it’s probably a bad idea. Quit and you’ll still be able to have a few when out socializing with friends.

2. Don’t Keep Any Wine At Home

It’s simple reaching for something because you have easy access to it. You might feel like eating ice cream, but are you prepared to drive to the supermarket for it? You’ll soon feel the same way about wine.

Don’t keep any lying around in your home. When your cupboards are dry you’ll be forced to do something else. Actually, don’t keep any alcohol at home, or you might end up hitting the strong stuff by accident.

3. Find A New Way To Calm Down

A large percentage of the population have an addictive personality, so it’s not necessarily the red wine you must have. Perhaps you just need to find a more responsible way to calm down after your work.

If you want to drink you should look into soothing teas. They’re extremely tasty and will help you relax. When the kids are tucked up in bed you could spend a while soaking in a hot detoxifying bath.

4. Hang A Calendar On The Wall

The first day you stop drinking wine you need to put a big X on the calendar. Put a new one up every day until your calendar is full of crosses. This is a cool psychological trick that usually works wonders.

Maybe you’ll feel like drinking, but you won’t be able to urge yourself to open a bottle. If you drink you’re not allowed to put an X in your calendar. At this point a random X is more important to you than tasty wine.

5. Listening To A Hypnosis App

Lots of busy mums will want to begin meditating, but it’s tough when you’re very stressed. Hypnosis is a lot easier because someone is telling you what to do. Download a hypnosis app and listen to it every night.

A couple of magical things will begin to happen. Firstly, it’s going to make you a hundred times more relaxed. It will also let you control your thoughts, so you won’t think about pouring a glass of wine.

It’s More Common Than You Think

I hope you don’t feel ashamed about drinking too much wine at night, because it’s a lot more common than you think. There will be a large number of moms around the country pouring themselves a glass right now.
