November 25 in the U.S., the day after Thanksgiving, and November 26 WorldWide, known as "Black Friday" when all good consumers are supposed to go out and spend, spend, spend and buy, buy, buy--BOYCOTT on this day and BUY NOTHING!

The 20th Annual Buy Nothing Days for 2011 are November 25th: North America and November 26th: Worldwide.
Launched in the mid-1990s by the Canada-based anti-consumerist publication Adbusters, it's an idea in which people are encouraged to stay out of the shops for 24 hours to make a small stand against rampant consumerism.
This year they are thinking bigger than ever. You see, Adbusters Magazine started the Occupy Movement. In last July's issue of Adbusters, they ran a one-page poster which simply read "Occupy Wall Street, September 17th, bring tent".

"On November 25th/ 26th we escape the mayhem of the biggest shopping day in North America and put the breaks on rabid consumerism for 24 hours. This year's Black Friday will be the first campaign of the holiday season where we set the tone for a new type of holiday culminating with #OccupyXMAS. As the global protests of the 99% against corporate greed and casino capitalism continues, let's take the opportunity to hit the empire where it really hurts: The Wallet. Let's use the coming 20th annual Buy Nothing Day to launch an all out offensive to unseat the corporate kings on the holiday throne."
Here are some great guidelines to follow for all your shopping throughout the year.
Before you buy something, ask yourself:
* Do I need it?
* How many do I already have?
* How much will I use it?
* How long will it last?
* Could I borrow it from a friend or family member?
* Can I do without it?
* Am I able to clean and/or maintain it myself?
* Am I willing to?
* Will I be able to repair it?
* Have I researched it to get the best quality for the best?
* price? How will I dispose of it when I'm done using it?
* Are the resources that went into it renewable or nonrenewable?
* Is it made or recycled materials, and is it recyclable?
* Is there anything that I already own that I could substitute for it?
