I am starting a fast today. This is an account of my feelings the first day and my plans.

Today is day 1 of my fast. I am drinking fat free chicken broth (5 calorie per cup) at what would be my normal meal times in order to not feel so hungry. Lately I have been gaining weight, feeling bloated, and run down. I want to try a fast to detoxify my system and lose 10 pounds.
I am planning on continuing the fast until I lose the amount of desired weight. I expect this to take approximately 10 days. I know I can do it if I put my mind to it.
I am struggling currently with hunger. I am about ready to go home from work and I always have a snack when I get home. I know that it will be really hard to resist the temptation. I think that I will feel better after I drink some more chicken broth. Hot green tea and coffee are also helping (no sugar added of course).
I can tell that I am going to be irritable. I already am feeling a little worn down, but I also had a bit too much to drink last night so I think that that is proprobably the cause.
I wish everyone luck on this blog/forum/site and I will pose tomorrow on my progress. Probably won't weigh myself for at least 3 days so I don't get discouraged by natural daily fluctuations.
