Who are we?
Every human is actually composed of three main parts; which constitute the whole person...
Date: 6/10/2009 9:10:04 PM ( 4 y ) ... viewed 803 times Each of us has three distinct parts: ( Humans are triune just as God is triune) with a physical body, a soul (including a life force), plus an eternal spirit! These together make up each person we encounter on the earth today... All other animals are dualistic, with only body & soul... Angels and Demons both have spirits...
*** Some view the soul as the spirit; while not true as we shall see!
1) Body: Everyone understands the physical body which is what we all see and experience here upon the physical Earth... Animals also have bodies...
2) Soul: The word "Soul" comes from the Greek "psuche" from which comes English psychic, translated; heart, life, mind, soul, us & you! The soul is actually the life force that quickens all animals which includes humans, have souls, plants have a life force but no soul... There is not any life force in non organic or inanimate objects like rocks...
3) Spirit: The word "spirit" comes the Greek "pneuma" which is where the English word pneumatic originates... Translated ghost, life, spirit, & mind! Only mankind have an Eternal Spirit, which animals do not possess, that is the key part of your existence! Your eternal spirit is generally the least known or understood part of your existence! Yet it is the most complex consisting of; your mind, your will and your emotions...
The main purpose of the human spirit is to seek a higher power (God), or the very reason for our existence... Thought and desire come through the spirit... God communicates thru the spiritual plain with mankind...
Only mankind seeks the reason for their existence! Thus mankind can seek God in the spirit... When a person accepts the mission of Jesus the Christ; by accepting His Works, His Death, Burial and Resurrection; they become spiritually saved! They gain eternal life and the reward of heaven; when this occurs the Holy Spirit of God seals them for Eternity!
You should take time to consider the condition of your spirit! The whole of your existence hinges upon the condition of your eternal spirit! It is here you should seek your eternal destiny! Remember your Salvation is not based on any works you or any man has done, it is a free will gift by the (Grace) of God... We can only decide to accept it or not!
