Wow, this is incredible.
Day 3 of my total grapefruit experience, going fabulously.

I tried an orange cleanse around this time last year, and it did nothing for me but make my sugar levels spike and crash, and I ended up gaining a bit of weight because I was not burning off all of the sugar I was taking in. I especially found that the less oranges I would eat during the day, the MORE I would feel that my blood sugar levels were simply skyrocketing. Never ever ever again would I do an orange cleanse...
BUT
GRAPEFRUIT
IS
AMAZING.
I can not get over it. I am in awe. Maybe I was a grapefruit in a former life (?!?) Whatever the reason, each time I smell one, peel it with my fingers, and break apart the pieces, it is a spiritual experience. I am humbled by its beauty, and how all of the tiny centimeter-long oblong pieces bond together to create one perfect sphere. I literally feel as if it is drawing out all of the old emotions from my body and pushing them out, and I feel this physically and emotionally, and I see it in the symbolism of my dreams. I feel light, refreshed, and relieved...and I don't even know what of! BUT I know that I never want to stop eating grapefruits.
I do not want to overeat these like I did oranges, either. I have one , and that is enough. If it is not, I eat another, and I stop when I am full. I think this is because of the low sugar content/high water content.
Recently, I gave up coffee once and for all. This was not a huge thing for me, but I have been working as a coffee barista for nearly 3 years, and have been having a cup a day since. But I hated that my blood was toxic because of it, and also, when looking around at society, I didn't want to become one of those people who are so addicted to coffee that it rules their life! Serving coffee to people, even though I worked at a place that served the best quality and most artistically lovely beverages, I realized that I was still just a drug dealer to the larger industry. ANYWAYS, I feel that these grapefruits are pushing out the last bit of coffee that's in my body. I don't know how. I don't know why. But it is, and I LOVE IT.
I began my period today, about a week early. This may be because my body is in total cleansing mode, and decided that it might as well get rid of blood waste as well as other waste. Fascinating!
I do not think I will continue this grapefruit feast for more than 2-3 more days, because I do not want to become addicted to them. Also, my dominant chakra is Root and my astrological sign is a Libra (air). This means that I need to eat grounding foods and eat a more balanced diet, or else my body goes a little haywire. However, I will do what my body dictates, and if it still wants to eat grapefruit for a little longer, than so be it :)
I would love to hear others' experiences with mono diets or citrus cleanses, as with my passion and success with this one, I am interested in learning much more.
