BEATING THE SYSTEM
The 20th century
has been
about
attempting
to beat the system.
The natural order
cannot be beat
or beaten down.
Caretaking land
fit to GROW DREAMS
takes care,
patience,
perserverance,
courage,
faith.
Our FOOD is intended to be
grown by FARMERS
who have
these qualities.
FOOD grown
--naturally--
--organically--
--Biodynamically --
is a spiritual action.
It asks Heroic measures.
It is intended to be valued.
Each of us is entrusted to say,
“I AM A FRIEND OF THE FARM
SO every JOE the FARMER
can say “HAPPINESS is ORGANIC!”
Happy farmers
produce food fit for human
consumption.
FOOD is intended to be Blessed.
Not only are we intended
to Bless our FOOD,
but FOOD is intended
to be a blessing.
NOT knowing who is growing our FOOD
is like being INTIMATE
with a STRANGER.

LIFE IS
LIVING IN THE
ENCHANTED GARDEN
The ENCHANTED
GARDEN
is a name
for our renewed earth.
It is sacred space
where our individual
and shared dreams
are alive and growing.
It grows here at home
in our backyard
as we do.
The Enchanted Garden
already exists.
It is sacred space
where we are walking through
our dreams.
It is renewed here one step at a time,
one plant at a time,
organically.
Plants add
beauty to this world.
The beauty in the
world is increased
every time
a new plant grows.
Plants hold space
for what can
BE
in the World.
A trowel
is Mother Earth’s
favorite personal growth
tool.
Personal growth
is a
pre-requisite
for
growing the
Enchanted Garden.
Personal growth
takes
time and space.
It goes with the territory
of living on earth.
11.
ROCKS
My driveway
is no longer a driveway. It becomes garden
space, a would be pathway of flowers, an entrance to Eden.
The work progresses inch by inch. I hoe, digging, digging in the dirt.
I soon discover ROCKS inhabit the unseen, below surface world.
Here is mystery, the way they unveil themselves and a once upon a time river bed.
I marvel at the fantasies they evoke in me.
They announce themselves with a clang, as hoe metal greets rock mineral.
The mind wonders at their size.
How impenetrable. How impossible the thought of removing them. Ever so slowly the drama builds.
I find a place to anchor my hoe. A round giants tooth is being extracted.
It refuses to let go. More deliberate pressure, added gracefully; and then--
a sign, a sign of motion. Suddenly, ah, release, and oh, what comes to light!
What beauty, what treasure. What joy, this rock
moving therapy, on a day nothing else will budge in my world.
Such sense of accomplishment, such feeling of real concrete achievement I can count and pile.
I like rocks, and what they do in me.

ROCKS have their place
in nature.
Rocks are beautiful.
In the soft, fertile seed bed
of our dreams, rocks
represent FROZEN FEELINGS.
Rocks sit on top of feelings.
Sitting in the Garden
where shoots from seeds
connect Heaven and Earth,
rocks ask to be moved
from one place to another.
Uncover rocks.
Deal with them:
See them. Smell them.
Touch them. Taste them.
Listen to them.
Below rocks are often amazing
little life forces.
Moving a rock lets sight into
new spaces below and above
precipitating a creative flow.
Dealing with Rocks
is a pre-requisite to fulfillment.
In the Enchanted Garden
character flaws
are acceptable.
They are natural.
God enters this
world through our flaws.
Thank God
for helping us remember
what hurts.
Everybody hurts one time or another.
Uncomfortable feelings
are part of the terrain
of a spiritual life
coming together.
Let something
beautiful grow out
of your
uncomfortable feelings.
Plant them.
Depression
is enforced
meditation.
Depression
expresses
a need to
catch up
with your self.
To reflect more on
what is going on inside.
Renewed
inspiration
and motivation often
follows a release
from depression.
Wombs are
fertile places
where
seeds
come to
flower.
voices of
of compassionate
intelligence
reign supreme
through the whole
universe.
They say,
May your
Breakdowns
turn into
breakthroughs.
May your
wounds
turn
into
wombs.
LIFE is frequently
a DRAMA.
If you don’t like
how Take ONE
came out,
TAKE TWO.
Ask for a RETAKE.
Communication
makes everything
possible.

LIVING AS AN EARTHQUAKE
WAITING TO HAPPEN
A fully alive
person
is one
of Mother Earth’s
most
coveted
and valued
natural resources.
No force on earth
can prevent
human
flowering.
To attempt to block
human fulfillment
is living as an earthquake
waiting to happen.
The earth craves
connection.
All natural things
on earth are
connected.
Loving Together
is natural.
Community is
natural.
Living outside community
is unnatural.
It is catastrophic
by nature.
The earth will not
stand for it.
It is another
form of
Living as
an Earthquake
waiting to happen.
Kids need gardens
more than computers,
natural metaphors
more than
Kids need to know
milk does not come from
milk bottles, but cows.
The climate of
20th Century education
is mechanically inclined.
The Soul is naturally inclined.
This is problematic.
The natural forces
of earth,
in cahoots
with the
individual Soul
and collective
demand of all that lives
to assert itself
and keep evolving
demands balance.
Natural disasters,
seemingly aberant weather
patterns,
crashing waves and tornadoes
catastrophic happenings
are
a by-product of human
beings
living as
an Earthquake
waiting to happen.

ON HEALTH
Dreams
are possible.
Broken dreams
invite stagnation,
boredom,
shortened lifespan.
Loss of dreams
breed heartache
and named and unnamed
conditions we call disease.
Vibrant Health
stems
from exercising
our dreams.
Living as we do,
inspires accidents.
Exhaustion
comes from doing
spring in winter.
The rhythms
of the natural world
are foreign to us.
We are becoming
more estranged.
14.
BOMBING VS BALMING
Bombing
is...
The 20th century has been
a war torn age.
Most of us are bombed out
and the activities
we honor
are expressions
of not being home inside.
BOMBED out living in the age
that is not passing.
We live is vessels
unknown to our self.
Join the Balm Squad.
Look to aromatic Herbs
for contentment.
15.
THE NEXT 1000 YEARS...
The 20th Century
knew a little bit
about man seeds
and woman seeds
and less about
the purpose behind
all other seeds.
The next 1000 years
will know more about
man seeds and woman seeds
and how they come together
to make a whole new world
through babymaking.
The next 1000 years will
appreciate all the other seeds
God has made to fulfill
babymaking.
Through seeds
man and woman
have an opportunity
to grow up.
Natural food
is a pre-requisite for
Dream Fulfillment.
During the next 1000 years
The Enchanted Garden
will come down to earth
through each of us growing naturally.
Growing Food naturally
ran against the GRAIN
of conventional
20th century
mechanized living.
This century and
its practices
are coming
to an end.
AMEN.
Many
activities
were without
Soul
in this 20th
century
coming
to an end.
The fulfilled
21st century
will be
a time when
activity
is again
ensouled.
Plants
provide
insulation from the
harsh elements of life.
