Will the Sheeple Wake Up now?

Economic Changes from Unsustainable to BETTER!!

I hope this does not sound too condescending, but the term "sheeple" refers to the public at large who has had the wool pulled over their [our] eyes when it comes to, in the modern era, the corporate culture takeover of all aspects of government and commerce.

We have seen deregulation, through corporate lobbying of government, resulting in massive pollution, cuts to education, health care costs that leave many of us untreated, and a concentration of wealth where 90% of a nation's wealth is in just 5% of the people's hands.

It is UNSUSTAINABLE. Not many people wanted to admit to that, especially not the corporate types who were enjoying such a fine time riding the high waves. There were some people willing to say it though, and there are no shortage of signs that we are living an unsustainable life in the developed world. Global Warming is just one, and the deterioration of people's health is another, and those are both related to pollution.

So, here we are at the point when it starts to unravel. It doesn't have to be a total catastrophe though. I remain optomistic, and see all this mess as the necessary transition to a better way to live.

We will emerge, after a few years, with a new economic situation where the cheapest way of doing things will be the rule, and not the most expensive being what some people want because they can make a bigger profit that way. We will be seeing most of our energy will be provided by renewable electrical production that will be much cheaper than fossil fuels, and it will be clean. Asthma rates and heart attacks will be reduced as the air gets cleaner. Life will be better.

We will see a much more equitable economy, where the wealthiest might have 100 times what the poorest have, but not 10,000 times as much as it is now [or was, until this credit crisis and stock market plunge hit!]. People will be happier, and less competitive - won't it be great to see other people as a good thing, and not something that we have to compete against?
