I had mine inserted November 2004, I think. I have recently been suspecting my problems being related to the Mirena. My mother has been telling me ever since I had it inserted. I am 28 years old and am now having hot flashes and night sweats. I have low back pain alot, hip pain which make my legs ache, fatigue, extreme irritability, depression, anxiety, headaches, trouble sleeping, breast tenderness. These all start appearing about 2 weeks before my mentrual cycle. Although, it has slowed the bleeding and shortened the length of my period, it has not taken it away. After reading these posts I am concerned about all of us. Do these doctors really know the long term effects of this IUD? I dont know for sure that my symptoms are related to the IUD but I swear everything gets worse each month. I feel sorry for my husband and kids because I lose control of myself over the littlest things and then later cry because I have been so awful to them. They are just children but I feel like I have no control over my emotional outbursts. I am taking Zoloft and feel like it is not helping much. I just wonder if I were to have this thing removed if it would improve my symptoms. I hope that everyone answers they are looking for. My personal opinion is female hormones should never be screwed with!!!
