I just randomly glanced at your blog and am so glad I did! Last October I went to Maui for my first time and stayed in Makena. I did sunrise at Haleakela AND took the road to Hana ON THE SAME DAY (I drove to avoid nausea)! And what a glorious day it was! We swam in many of the pools (blue pool was a fave) hiked up the seven sacred pools trail (bamboo forest was the absolute best), and stopped to swim in the ocean any spot we found. It was a LOOOONG day. We also took the BACK road back...which was quite interesting once the sun set. Anyway, it was GREAT looking at your photos. Brought back some wonderful memories.

Other islands I've checked out....the Florida Keys, Puerto Rico, Bahama Islands, St. Simon Island (Hey, it's and island...AND it's off the coast of GA), and Catalina (I'm sure I'm missing something)! I'm originally a North Carolina girl living in Souther California now.
