Hi, i bled everyday for about 4 months after having my iud inserted. It did get lighter.My periods were a bit hit and miss for a while then they disapeared altogether. That was the only advantage. Had mine removed yesterday and it wasn't as bad as when it's fitted only took a couple of minutes and minimal pain. Have had a bit of a belly ache since like mild period and so far have only had a light bleed. good luck
