I am so surprised to find so many people with symptoms like mine! I have had the mirena coil in since the past 3 years - since then, I have been treated for depression, weight gain, swelling in different parts of my body, insomnia, unexplainable fevers, and since the past 6 months, my hands have started giving out, swollen fingers, painful wrists. No doctor ( and I have visited 5) has been able to put a reason out for my symptoms and none of them have suggested I get the coil removed, even though I have told them that I have it. After reading comments on this website, I am making an appointment to have the coil removed asap. With any luck, I can get my old life back.
