The stuff I used was just plain malic acid. I'm not sure if magnesium would alter the usefulness in any way. If you can just find malic acid with nothing else added, I suspect that's the way to go. I'll be doing my third flush next weekend. Let me know how yours goes and I'll post my results here as well.
