1. Tryptophan (this the correct spelling by the way) is NOT illegal. It was banned in the US for a decade due to a tainted batch made by one company - TAINTED meaning the tryptophan they were selling had another ingredient accidentaly added that poisoned people. The FDA finally recinded the ban for other companies, who sell untaintained tryptophan. It is now legal to buy.

2. If tryptophan was toxic, what would happen to you when you eat bananas, any protein, many types of seeds, etc? It is an amino acid, found in many foods. It is not toxic.
