I have been using boric adid; which is hard to get but for some reason can be found at a local 99 cent store. It has been outlawed in NY.

Meanwhile I thought boric acid was outlawed because it was so toxic, but besides being cheaper it sounds like it is more effective than what my husband likes. He loves to spray with Raid; it kills me; I can always tell when he has done it; I get so sick I have to leave the house. He keeps telling me he hasn;t sprayed; he buys scented ones that smell more like house fragrance or perfume, but I start sneezing and coughing and become very allergic.
