I was making the kefir. What I did was let 1 c. milk and grains set together 24 hrs. and then i did that for 3 days. I have my kefir critters made, but they do smell sour and i am not thrilled to eat them. What do I do. Do i need to place it in the fridge, not room temp to culture?

Then when they are done, do I let them stay in the fridge. Do you need to eat them right away and how much do you eat. They are the consistency of cottage cheese.

SCARED! I placed my grains in a home-made tea bag and just wash them off under water - ground water

Thank you for your help!!
