Hi Zoe, hope you are doing swimmingly!
Just popping in with a little update. I've been totally 100% raw now for a couple of weeks and tonight, I MUST do a liver flush because I think if I don't my liver and gallbladder are going to burst!
I've been detoxing for days, more, again...but now it's different since I'm eating plenty of solid foods, just all uncooked. I've got zits galore, too, and my skin and hair are emitting oily sludge. This is the stage where my body is discarding yucky tissue made out of cooked food (if you can call organic food cooked "yucky"!) and getting ready to build again with the raw, enzyme-rich food, which is supposedly a much higher level of quality than meat, dairy, or cooked, etc. so that the body says, "hey, superior building material, let's move out the crap and make room for this great stuff!"
Sooo I drank a bunch of raw apple juice up until about noon. I don't know whether going raw always calls for a liver flush due to the liver being taxed with the cleanup job that raw food brings, but I know I absolutely need to do one right away with the way things feel...almost like I ate a huge greasy meal x 10 but all I've had is raw veggies, fruits, grains, and some raw hummos made w/ sprouted chickpeas.
Need to do some research on how raw effects the liver/gallbladder but maybe you can stab at a guess? Is it old stored fats or something?
