I might suggest trying an Aspirin mask next time you run into some break-outs.

It doesn't stay on your skin very long (10 minutes or so - more, if you feel comfortable while cleansing).

It is like a mini something-peel (I can NEVER remember those names).

What I do:

Put 4 uncoated (or micro-coated) Aspirins (actual Bayer-type) in a spoon, and add 4-5 drops of water on top of them.

Wait 15 seconds, until the water is apsorbed.

Dump in a cup (or small bowl) and add in 1 tablespoon of honey. Mix thoroughly, so the aspirin break up into bits.

Apply to your face (I recommend getting undressed if you're doing this before a shower, or cover your clothes, since this can be messy until you get the consitency right).

Leave on for 10-10 minues (more or less, depending on your comfort level while cleansing).

Dampen your hands and massage your face with the mask still on. It will help exfoliate.

Rinse your face 5-6 times with water, or get in the shower and wash off.

I have found it to reduce puffyness and redness caused by breakouts, smoothen your skin, and make it very soft.

I try to do it every 2-3 days, and spot-treat (with just 1 aspirin) if I break out in between days.

Hope this helps, cleansing or not! :)
