Harpo was a make believe Dad for many people. He had a lot of love to give away.

Funny thing is he was a real father, who had a daughter who really adored him. Maybe he forgot or maybe he took us for granted. He came in and out of my life as he chose. There was no logic to his ways. When he was in our home he gave us a lot of love and attention. When he was gone, he was gone. There were no phone calls, no letters, and no excuses.

Harpo has besides me, a son in law and four beautifully grown grandchildren. He would be proud of them, especially my youngest who is a vegetarian health guru herself devoting her life to her own spritual path and a career as professional ballet dancer. In many ways she is her grandfather. She loves to give sermons about the right way to live, the right way to eat, the right way to exercise. She is constantly on patrol in our house, advising us not to buy the wrong kinds of food and to throw away anything she considers is junk food. I can only nod and listen.I have heard these stories and sermons before. Genetics is an amazing thing.

Like my daughter my mother was also passionate about ballet. She had always hoped to do the things that now her granddaughter is doing. Sadly my mother died 7 years before my daughter was born. She would have loved to have known her. Hopefully she is seeing us from above.
