Hi Leslie,

Thanks for your response. Hee hee, I'm so familiar with you, that it's a little weird writing to you about me, as from reading you all the time for ages, it feels as if you would know who I am. One of these days as fate might have it, I may have to go down south or something, and then I might stop by your enchanted garden and blow you away. Wouldn't that be fun?

I'm usually on the northern coast of CA, about 2 blocks in from the ocean on Hwy. 1, 25 minutes south of S.F., and about 2 miles south of the Devil's Slide. Ooooh, it's a nice area. When I was living out there all the time, I kept an herb garden outside. The most fragrant rosemary and tarragon I've ever dived into, (as in diving into an other-dimension of fragrance) and the greenest, most assertive cilantro.

Here is south FL, things are a little different. The experiences I've had with growing things haven't encouraged me much. The sun and heat seem to scorch everything, even though there is a short season from Dec. to about March, when it is easier to grow things. I still do manage to keep some basil around, and whatever else is fickle enough to stay alive that particular year. I have to say I've never tried the beet thing, but it sounds like a great deal of fun. Mmmm, and how I looove beet greens!!

Yes, I would love to see a real awareness of organics come to this area. Although the local supermarkets are starting to bring in a conservative amount of organic items, and at a much more reasonable price than the health food stores, it's still not anything to jump up and down about. But then, consumer awareess is so dismal! I find few people who seem to know or care about what they are eating.

Anyway EG, it's really nice talking with you, I get a lot of chuckles out of your very quirky ways. In fact, I usually save reading your stuff for right before I go to bed, when I want to remove all the routine and stressful things out of my mind. I especially like to read about your longing for Your Best Friend. It's really nice for a change to hear a man's romantic melancholy. So much of what we hear from men is their rougher side. But don't get me wrong, I love men, they are wonderful....and so are you. :o)

Many blessings to you,
ALI >(^^)<
