I take about a pint of juice (usually home made) and dilute it half with water. I then add about a tablespoon of maple syrup (grade B or unrefined). I put this all in a glass container with about a teaspoon of ACTIVE dry brewers yeast (get it at a brewing store).

I let this sit on my counter for 24 hours with a airlock top (which keeps air from getting in, but lets the brew gas off).

For most people, you'd want to do that in a fridge, since the fermentation can be quite strong on the counter.
