i dont know, i think it is a great quesiton though. how DO we teach others to value the environment and to take repairing it seriously?

personally i believe that we, as a human race, are in the middle of a radical reimagining of our value system. that we are being forced by our karma to drastically change what we consider important and unimportant. and this change is ahppening all around us, with many many poeple, even if it doesn't make it into the NY times.

we are coming to a time when we will look our own survival as a species in the face, eye to eye with self destruction, and when that happens we will change or die. but the change is already happening all around.

its the 100 monkeys syndrome, just continue to allow your consciusness to evolve and you will affect those around you without them even knowing it.
