Thanks for your research....  I remembered that the "Lone Ranger" was either a Texas or Arizona Ranger...  He and Tonto seemed to operate down the Southwest area...  As far as Tonto being Canadian it is news to me...   It sure sounds like someone saw some "deep pockets" and just wanted some fast cash.... HUH!!
