Thanks for the poop scoop. You made my day, darling. ;}
Man, I remember those teen days with my son. I have two kids, both are in their mid/late twenties now. But even so, I still sometimes feel I have to tip toe around my son. Back when he was in his tumultous teens, we had scenes many times similar to what you and your son went through last night.
I look back on those days and wonder what I could have done differently. Most of the time I think, nothing really because I really took my duties as a mother seriously and tried my best with both of my kids and there was and is a lot of love there. Yeah, I know the old adage that goes something like, as soon as you begin raising your voice, you've lost the battle. But damn, sometimes teens can try a saint!
But I do understand your sorrow in losing control with your son. I have felt that many times. Many parents do. You're right in not beating yourself up so badly. You've been under stress for the last three weeks, you have to take that into consideration, too, while you're at it.
Maybe you can sit down with your son, one-on-one, and ask him how he feels about certain things (why he does this or that); ask him what you can do to be a better mother for him; ask him what he believes he needs from you. I remember my son (and daughter) really appreciated my asking them these things, they still do. It helped to keep things in perspective for me, such as keeping in mind that my kids are human, too, and that often times, young children, including teens, do not know how to express verbally their emotions like most adults do and so they act (behave) their emotions out.
You might actually have more strong toxin events like you did yesterday before your fast is over. You're getting close to the end, you've stopped the broths, you took an herbal lax the night before and cut way down on the juices yesterday, which strengthened the detox. The less you put in your body, the stronger the detox. Your electrolytes may have been off balance, in addition, your blood sugar may have been low which could make you feel faint and dizzy.
What are your plans for when you come off your fast?
Here's to hoping today and the rest of your days on this fast are lovely and peaceful.
