I live in southwest Florida and have dealt with more hurricanes than I care to say over the last two years.  Charley wiped out my town in 2004.  Katrina missed us by an inch on the map.  I understand the fear these people had when they fled to Georgia.  But I can't imagine not having a home to go back to.  That's far too devastating to contemplate.  But I know it could happen to me and my family simply because we live where it happens.  Each year when we see hurricanes destroy homes and lives elsewhere, we say,

"There, but for the grace of God go us."

One day, it could be our turn.  But in the meantime, we do what we can to aid the others.   Because one day, they could be aiding us.
