this is true, but I think the tide is slowly turning. as the demand for organic foods increases, and it has, the cost will come down slowly. a big factor in the cost disparity is that large agribusiness can get government farm subsidies, but organic growers, who are often smaller-acreage farmers, can not because they have to have a certain acreage to get the subsidies. solution: make it easier for organic farmers to get subsidies for growing their crops, or better yet, do away with this form of welfare to farmers in the first place!
