thank you Wrenn for your response. I must admit I have been rather an ignoramus about alternatives to soy in the diet of vegetarians and vegans, as I am not either. I avoid soy at all costs primarily because I am very allergic to it, and have a lot of other food sensitivities including nuts, grains, legumes, etc. therefore making it hard to be a vegan. One of the reasons I have started sungazing is so I could cut down on the amount of food I eat daily. I do know, from an environmental standpoint, that GMO'd soy, as well as Canola (rape seed) are major problems in the U.S. and Canada because of genetic drift into non-GMO'd crops, as well as increasing use of herbicides, particularly Monsanto's Roundup Herbicide, and contamination of wild grasses, as well as soy being used in products on the grocery store shelves without consumers knowing they are eating it.

thank you very much for your references!

Liora Leah
