There's theories that that's exactly how the pyramids were built. In fact, there are no markings on the stones that would indicate that they were dragged up there using the log and pully system up a humongous ramp that's commonly taught in schools.

How ridiculous is that to build a ramp twice as big as the structure itself?

You're a lot closer to the truth in your statement above than anything taught in our schools. You are a wonderful teacher!
