I totally agree with you. I live in a place where people tend to be new-agey and focused on the positivity in things.

There isn't much of anything positive in relation to what's happening in the South. It's so scary. I'm certain that whether conscious or subconscious, admitted or not admitted, racism plays a part in this.

That's just why I wrote only a brief paragraph in my blog entry the other day re: Katrina, and it contained a link or two to real information from realistic, non-new-agey people who were remaining in New Orleans throughout the aftermath to help.
