Some of the "New Age" movement is just a newly enhanced form of controlling minds similar to other religions that only serve to create non-active docility (slaves). There is a collective reality and ignoring it doesn't make it go away. We must notice what is going on around the macrocosm and from our microcosmic vantage point, choose our response out of awareness and make a difference. But awareness comes form noticing whaht is going on around us.

Gandhi offered up civil disobedience as his way of countering unjust laws and ridiculous prejudices (never violence). Even Mother Teresa brought awareness to atrocities.

They key is in the response. For instance, Mother Teresa asked if she would march against the war in the 60's. She refused saying that when they have a demonstration for peace, she would be there. Therein lies an important distinction. She is not burying her head in the sand nor is Gandhi. They noticed the "contrast" or the collective dis ease, if you will, and chose a positive response to it.

Some people disabled by fear miss the point and cash out altogether saying that they will project the reality they want. Trouble is it's contextual in the bigger picture, like a drop of water to a bucket full of water. Yes we must become the change we want to see but we do that by first noticing what we don't want to be and thus showing others what that contrast is too.

CHanting love and light across a busy 8 lane freeway in an attemtp to ignore what is happening will get you smudged. Noticing the 8 lane freeway is an important first step so that an appropriate response can be brought forth from within.

BTW, racism is just the tip of the iceberg concerning this event.
