There is certainly an element of "green washing" with these kinds of efforts, especially when government and industry are at the helm. What is important though, is the consciousness that comes to light. We create our reality by what we think and do (or don't do). The very fact that you and I are having this exchange says something important. We are not being fooled about the environmental issues of our day. Even though corporations use green washing techniques, it has a spin off benefit that they may not intend, and that is raising awareness. As more individuals raise their awareness (inevitable as life/reality expands), we will eventually get to a critical mass stage (100th monkey). This inturn gets people looking even further until they take their actions further, such as buying hemp products and boycotting companies that plunder our environment, etc and just getting involved.

BY these companies and our government creating a feeling that they are doing something, they are acknowledging that they are creating a problem. Our subconscious is not fooled and will spill into our conscious minds as we feel the pain of our collective actions (or supportive actions) and the epiphany pops to the foreground. All actions have a dual nature and and serve a purpose. Contrast is a valuable tool as we progress. In the end it comes down to our free will as individuals make up the collective whole. What are you doing to make a difference?
