While race may have played a part in the 1800 and early half of the 1900's - there were several things involved. One was the Mainly Anglo- European society and culture in the USA.
Like most all groups in the world which tend to keep their own culture first over foreigners or any others who were different.

If you look beyond the facade in most of the world's different cultures - it will show that there has always been friction and indifference.

It has been based upon race, religions, sectionalism, tribalism and just general ethnic differences. Through out most of history isolation has kept this localized and limited. It was only in the last 100 years that communication and transportation removed or over came many of this these elements; which had limited such interaction!

So to just say that it was the USA history and it's social order that was wrong or anti people is wrong and not correct!

Actually the USA started and eventually allowed the general changes which is now recognized as basic human freedoms. If any country allowed the development and free movement of personal social interaction it was and is the USA!

There has always been social tension and indifference in the world; it is just that the greatest growth and freedom has occurred in the USA over the past 200 years!

Much if this develop happened because the USA was basically a Christian nation based upon Biblical principles. While not perfect or always right it has been mankind best foot forward up to this time in history!
