Sorry I didn't get back sooner - my computer died and I had to replace it. Lucky me to have enough to do that.
I think you are being very one-sided in all this. I am probably wrong to put it all down to "right Vs left" too.
The problems in Venezuela are the same under every leader - the currency is a mess, continuously propped up by loans that have to be paid back, which means the next round is going to have a weak currency.
Venezuela does not produce as much as it imports, keeping the currency weak.
